P008/24 | Planning Applications
The Chair described how the meeting would be run and what role the Parish Council had in the decision making process for planning applications.
24/39049/FUL Change of use of land to use as a residential caravan site for 3 gypsy families each with one mobile home, one touring caravan and one day room and stable block, car parking, foul drainage, landscaping and hardscaping Land Opposite Beech Tree Farm London Road Pasturefields Documents displayed and talked through by the Clerk. |

P006/24 | Close meeting for Public Participation.
Concerns on impact on Pasturefields Saltmarsh. Concerns re the foul drainage/waste. Field will end up full of touring caravans due to visitors. Would set a precedent, adjacent fields would also become travellers’ sites. House prices would be impacted negatively. The unofficial travellers site nearby has a dog that barks a lot. Then site floods. Drainage – how will the drainage system actually drain? The access is off a 50mph road – is approved the speed limit should be lowered to no more than 40mph. Unfair that the speed limit isn’t now 40mph, as in Weston. There would be constant traffic In/Out due to visitors. How could this application be allowed when the property opposite was told they wouldn’t get permission for another dwelling? The field opposite was refused permission for hardstanding to the entrance of the field. The site is far too small for 6 horses to be on it. Would open up the way for more building consent – cheap way of getting a nice home in the country. |

P007/24 | Reopen meeting
P008/24 contd | Councillors’ comments on the application: No effective drainage. Treatment works is a septic tank – water table is high so nowhere for the water to flow to. Would be very obvious from the A51 Access issues. Visual impact. Effect on Pasturefields Salt Marsh. Environmental issues wrt the canal. Decision was to OBJECT to the application – Highways, visibility, SSSI, canal, A51 streetscene. No material changes from the previous application (21/34638/FUL). Some of the main objections to the previous application were read out by the Chair. Call-In was requested from the Borough Councillor present. |
Clerk |
P009/24 | It was confirmed that only planning applications listed on the agenda will be considered – raised at meeting of June 12th but not an agenda item. | Clerk |
P010/24 | The Clerk distributed a revised agenda template that would allow for a slightly different order of items when members of the public are present – discussed and deferred to next meeting. | Clerk |
Meeting ended 3pm |
