NOTICE OF MEETING

The annual parish meeting will be held at 6:30 pm on Tuesday 20th May 2025 in Hixon Memorial Hall. All Parishioners and spokespersons on behalf of Parish organisations are invited to attend and take part. The meeting will be chaired by Brendan McKeown, Chair of Hixon Parish Council.

The Parish Meeting may, by Law, discuss all Parish affairs and pass resolutions accordingly. The following matters have, so far, been placed on the Agenda.

Additional items for inclusion are welcome from any Parishioner or Parishioners.

  4. Chair’s presentation on future issues effecting Hixon Parish area, including Stafford Borough Council Local Plan Review and updating Hixon Neighbourhood Plan.

HIXON PARISH MEETING MINUTES 20th May 2025
Held at 6:30pm in Hixon Memorial Hall

DRAFT

  1. The Chair of Hixon Parish Council welcomed the residents attending the meeting (ca. 20 residents).
  2. The Chair gave a presentation on future issues effecting Hixon Parish area, including the Stafford Borough Council Local Plan Review and the need to update the Hixon Neighbourhood Plan. Residents were invited to contact the Parish Council if they wished to be on the Neighbourhood Plan Working Party.
    Questions from residents centred on the need for better public transport (currently cannot get a direct bus to the Doctor’s Surgery and Pharmacy in Great Haywood) and where any additional housing might go g. if the airfield was developed for housing, would this mean no additional housing sites in Hixon would be required? Might be the best option.
  3. Any Other Business – None.
  4. The Clerk to Hixon Parish Council presented a report on the main sources of income for 2024-2025 and the main items of expenditure.
    Total income was £46,484 and total expenditure (including transfers between bank accounts) was £64,244.

Meeting ended at 8pm.
