054/20 | Budget and precept for 2021-2022: The Chair led Councillors through the draft budget line by line. Main points as follows: £2000 allocated for works on bus shelters (new roof on Church Lane and new notice boards in both) ; £5000 budget allocated for a cricket bowling/batting area on the Church Lane playing fields and possible new swings, balance of costs to be sought from Section 106 money from planning application No. 14/20548/FUL: 30 houses off Church Lane. (Circa £42K available for improvements at Church Lane Playing Fields and/or Hixon Millennium Green). Highway Safety improvement budget increased to £22K, to include safety and aesthetic improvements at the mini island junction of Church Lane/Martins Way/Sycamore Drive/Smithy Lane. Overall spend figure agreed by all. Precept discussed: Two proposals were made (a) zero % increase and (b) 2% increase to taxpayers. (a) resolution defeated 5 votes to 2. (b) resolution approved by 5 votes to 2. Budget and Precept agreed. |

049/20 | Council considered grass mowing contract 2021-2023 tender report prepared by Vice Chair and Cllr Mrs S. McKeown. Five tenders received and all considered anonymously. A summary of all the tenders had been circulated and two tenders were highlighted for consideration. After discussion, it was agreed to accept Tender No. 3 on the basis of costs and capability to deliver the works (on a cut and drop regime) over the three year contract period. All in agreement. Clerk to advise successful contractor and to exchange signed contract. Clerk to also thank other four tenderers for their time and submissions. | Clerk |
