| Two residents spoke regarding Hall Farm Close (HFC) open space: The vast majority of the grass had been allowed to grow long to encourage wildflowers to grow, the long grass being cut twice each September. This is the 3rd year of this regime. The long grass is unsightly, does not allow the young people to play on it any more, harbours rats and due to the very hot, dry weather has become a fire risk. Residents in nearby houses have been suffering from hayfever when previously they did not. The only wildflowers present are those from the seeds that a resident placed around the tree, the other plants growing in the grass are weeds (nettles, thistles etc.). The residents were requested to let the council know how they and other residents of HFC would like the open space laid out in terms of mowing for future years. Refer also to 036/26. The owner of a new business that has started on Hixon Airfield Estate introduced himself and his wife. The business manufactures aeration equipment used to prevent fish from dying, dust suppression etc., this is a £5 million project. It was requested that vehicles visiting this business only use the West entrance to the industrial estate to avoid entering the actual village area. |

| Cllr Hughes asked if the PC could have general meetings with local businesses – the reason behind the meetings with JBMI was explained, meetings with other businesses not ruled out and can be useful. | – | |
| 016/26 | Planning Applications (previously considered by delegation to Clerk/Planning Committee). | Chair |
| 26/42323/FUL Change of use of redundant boiler house to office and storage accommodation for Hixon Parish Council and associated Car Parking 24 Walnut Crest Hixon Stafford ST18 0NS | No objection from HPC | |
| Agenda Items | ||
| 036/26 | The mowing contract and impact of un-mown wildflower areas on residents:
It was agreed (Chair/Cllr Hever-Smith) that the 2 full cuts of the grass be brought forward to the first 2 cuts in August – all in favour. This would alleviate the issues with HFC open space. Residents have also complained about the long grass open spaces on Hammonds Croft and the entrance to Sycamore Drive. |

| 075/25 | Highway Safety Issues and traffic in Hixon Parish area, including Lea Heath and the A51: Chair will circulate a report. | Chair |

Employment Committee will comprise 3 members rather than 4, TOR will be amended. Working parties and other appointments as per May minutes, less Cllrs Raby and Hilton.
