Minutes of the Meeting of the Full Council held at 7.30pm on 26th April 2022 in Hixon Memorial Hall

005/21 Borough Councillors’ report Chair reported that an important meeting had been held the previous Tuesday at which all councillors were asked to attend. Vote taken to continue to share the Chief Executive with Cannock for another 18 months – this sharing is not working well. –
006/21 County Councillor’s report. None
007/21 Close meeting for Public Participation. None

The judges for the Best Garden etc. awards will be assigned in May. Clerk
Parish Councillor questions.
Cllr. Wheatley: can we publicise the oil-sharing buying arrangement – agreed to place details on website and notice board. Clerk
Cllr. Mrs S McKeown:  Can a resident be given temporary view-only access to the PC’s Parish Online account so they can view where the sunflower seeds can be planted, on grass verges etc.? Areas to be plotted by Cllr. Mrs S McKeown. This access was agreed.

When will the annual maintenance work on notice boards, benches etc. be done? Clerk will chase TGM.

Reminder to councillors to delete emails from the “Bin” to free up storage space.

It was agreed that councillors can respond to surveys sent through by the Clerk on an individual basis and Clerk can respond on behalf of the Council.
It was agreed to start serving tea and coffee again at PC meetings.

Cllr. Mrs C Murdoch raised the deplorable state of the land between the Co-op the houses again..
Chair will contact landowner again – landowner was tying in the land with work on the new footpath. Chair will also chase up the situation with the footpath.		  

 

Chair
Cllr. Hopcroft reported on the first PPG meeting at Hazeldene House surgery since the first Covid lockdown. A new phone line has been put in, they are recruiting a salaried GP and are 2 nurses down. Two healthcare assistants have been taken on and physiotherapist is being taken on. The surgery can now be contacted via email. –

080/21 Tree survey update: the trees have been plotted on Parish Online. Cllrs Mrs S McKeown and Hopcroft to meet with tree surgeons to show them the trees, ask/answer questions as necessary, in order to receive quotes for any work thought necessary. 083/21 Playing field items:

Tennis nets/posts: Price of £375 agreed for new posts and net. Don’t need the sockets which are included in the price. Need the dimensions of the posts.
Waiting for quotes for  jet washing away the moss/algae on the play area surface and levelling the wet pour surface.
May be possible to dry brush away the algae.
Cllr. Hopcroft has spoken to contractor who will come and inspect the wetpour surface under the play equipment, 2 hollows to fill in.
