The Chair gave a presentation on:
- the Parish Council’s achievements and future plans.
- future issues effecting Hixon Parish area, including the Stafford Borough Council Local Plan Review and the need to update the Hixon Neighbourhood Plan and what benefits we may want from it. A new questionnaire will be distributed. The areas put forward for development around Hixon were shown on screen.
- Local Government Reorganisation
Questions/comments from residents included:
Will the PC work with SBC regarding the NP,
The number of children estimated in planning applications is significantly understated, no vacancies in local schools.
Should residents embrace one site (e.g. the airfield) and turn down all other sites? Larger developments would have more smaller houses, which would be beneficial. Affordable housing needs to be truly affordable.
If a large parcel of land is split between developers then there needs to be cohesion between the developer.
If better infrastructure is put in, would this mean we would get yet more houses? Could an unmanned railway station be included to accommodate people travelling out of Hixon for work?
- Any Other Business – None.
Meeting ended at 8.25pm
