A number of residents spoke in opposition to the planning application for a traveller site off the A51 at Pasturefields. The canal side of the A51 has seen a sporadic increase in unapproved development over recent years, permanent boat-moorings, static caravans, sheds, and vehicles that do not have planning permission. The land is designated as ‘agricultural use’. The residents of Pasturefields wish to maintain the agricultural character and appearance of the area. Concerns were also raised regarding waste, sewage and traffic problems. The land along A51 Pasturefields is predominately pasture land, including a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). Recent encroachments have significantly impacted the area. | ||
