Orchard Cottage (at the junction of High Street and Featherbed Lane) has become the first property in the village to receive a Hixon Heritage Building plaque.

Hixon Heritage Buildings are awarded by Hixon Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group and the plaques are paid for by Hixon Parish Council.

The idea behind the awards is to reveal the hidden history of properties and what lies behind what might be a somewhat inconspicuous facade.
