Have your say on boundary changes

The Boundary Commission has launched an eight week consultation period for the proposed re-drawing of  Parliamentary Constituency boundaries, one of which would have significant consequences for Hixon.

At the present time, Hixon is part of a constituency that includes Stafford town, the Haywoods and further south to Acton Trussell and Penkridge.

In the review proposals, Hixon would be cut off from Stafford and will to be included in a new constituency that will stretch from Stone to the North and south to Great Wyrley and to the outskirts of Wolverhampton near the M54 motorway, before wrapping around to the border with Shropshire to the West.  The new constituency will be called Stone & Great Wyrely.

The closing date for responses is 2nd August 2021

Hixon Parish Council will consider the proposals at its next meeting on 22nd June. In the meantime, please share your views to clerk@hixon.gov.uk
